We provide objective, evidence-based neuropsychological and psychological evaluations for legal and forensic purposes in both civil and criminal contexts for adolescents, adults, and older adults. Our practice delivers independent expert reports and consultations tailored to the referral questions posed by attorneys, insurance carriers, courts, and private retaining parties. We offer specialized expertise in cross-cultural evaluations, accommodating diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, including skills with utilization of professional forensic interpreters when necessary.

We consult on a wide range of legal issues, including but not limited to:

• Personal Injury: Assessment of traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-traumatic stress, and other psychological sequelae.
• Disability & Worker’s Compensation: Objective determination of functional impairments and work-related injuries.
• Fitness for Duty: Evaluations to determine an individual’s psychological or cognitive capacity to safely perform essential job functions.
• Capacity & Competency: Assessments regarding the capacity to make medical, financial, or legal decisions, as well as testamentary capacity.
• Immigration Proceedings: Psychological evaluations for extreme hardship, asylum, or citizenship waiver (N-648) cases.
• Criminal Forensic Issues: Evaluations addressing competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, or mitigating factors.

Our comprehensive evaluations are designed to:

A standard forensic neuropsychological or psychological evaluation is rigorous and typically involves:

1. Comprehensive Record Review: Detailed analysis of medical, developmental, academic, occupational, and legal records.
2. Clinical Interview: In-depth diagnostic and history-gathering interviews with the examinee, and collateral interviews when indicated.
3. Objective Testing: Administration of standardized neuropsychological and psychological measures, including validated symptom and performance validity tests.
4. Forensic Reporting: Preparation of a clear, defensible, and comprehensive integrated report addressing the specific referral questions.

Please note that forensic evaluations are performed for legal purposes and cannot be billed to medical insurance companies. Retainers and fee schedules are established prior to the commencement of services.
