Clinical Team

 Farzin Irani, Ph.D., ABPP-CN

I am a board certified clinical neuropsychologist with experience in assessing and treating various brain, psychological and psychosocial problems.   I try to use a thorough, compassionate, and culturally aware approach in my work so that people feel heard, understood, and get their questions answered with clarity.  I am multi-lingual and value the unique world views that we all have to offer.  I have been fortunate to work with diverse individuals of different ages (child through older adults) and from a variety of settings (outpatient, inpatient, legal, school, college, assisted living and research) who have struggled with various neurological, neurodevelopmental, psychological or psychosocial problems. I try to help patients, family members, providers, attorneys, judges, insurers and advocates answer questions about thoughts, feelings and behaviors.  I am currently accepting referrals for clinical, forensic, aviation, police officer candidate, and vocational evaluations.

My background includes a master’s degree in counseling and human relations from Villanova University, a doctoral degree in clinical psychology (neuropsychology) from Drexel University, a pre-doctoral internship from Brown University, and two post-doctoral fellowships from the University of Pennsylvania in clinical, forensic and research training. I have also obtained board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology in Clinical Neuropsychology (ABPP-CN). I was awarded Fellow status by the American Psychological Association. I try to remain current in the field by staying engaged with teaching graduate and undergraduate students. I also serve on local (e.g.  Philadelphia Neuropsychology Society) and national committees in the profession (e.g. American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology, National Academy of Neuropsychology, American Psychological Association).  My free time is committed to my family, traveling, and pursuing my hobbies whenever I can.

As a researcher, I have published peer-reviewed articles, encyclopedia entries and book chapters, and made presentations at national and international conferences. I recently edited a global handbook called Cultural Diversity in Neuropsychological Assessment: Developing Understanding through Global Case Studies.

Kelly Kollias Psy.D.

I am a clinical psychologist who believes in an individualized and therapeutic approach to neuropsychological assessment. Over the years, I have gained experience working with a range of neurologic issues, including brain injury and dementia, in addition to psychological concerns and neurodevelopmental conditions. I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and Master of Arts degree from Widener University, with a certificate of training in Neuropsychology. I completed my predoctoral internships at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Clinical Neuropsychology Associates, and my postdoctoral fellowship at RSM Psychology Center and The Sports Concussion Center of New Jersey. I have received training in a range of settings, including post-acute rehabilitation, inpatient/hospital settings, and private practice/outpatient clinic, but find myself most drawn to private practice and the flexibility it affords in providing compassionate care. I believe in ongoing professional education through consultation and working with trainees, and we encourage this continued professional growth at AAA Neuropsychology. At AAA, we feel that a welcoming and warm environment helps patients feel at ease and enables them to get the most out of testing. We strive to make the assessment process as comfortable and beneficial as possible and look forward to working with you.

Sarajane Rodgers, PsyD. MPH

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in clinical neuropsychology. I received a Master’s degree in Psychological Science from the University of Limerick and then obtained an additional Master’s degree and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England. Throughout my training, I have worked with individuals throughout the lifespan in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals, an acute rehabilitation hospital, and a partial hospital. I completed my predoctoral internship at Geisinger Medical Center and then stayed on for my postdoctoral neuropsychology fellowship. While at Geisinger, I had the opportunity to work in several multidisciplinary specialty clinics, including the Post-ICU Delirium Clinic and the Memory and Cognition Clinic.

Outside of clinical work, I am a member of several professional organizations (e.g., the National Academy of Neuropsychology, the International Neuropsychological Society, American Psychological Association) and am a part of the Education Committee for the American Delirium Society. I also volunteer as a counselor for Crisis Text Line. In addition to my love for neuropsychology/psychology, I am very interested in public health, both on a global and local scale. I feel that the responsibility of providers extends not only to the individuals they individually work with, but clinicians also have an obligation to work on making needed systemic changes.

As a provider, I strongly believe in the principle of cultural humility and strive to incorporate humanistic philosophies into all of my personal and professional interactions. I believe that a neuropsychological evaluation can be an extremely important part of someone’s care and hope to foster an environment that feels warm and safe.

Celita Owens, PsyD

Dr. Celita Owens uses an evidence-based neuropsychology approach, which integrates the referral question, research, aspects of the patient (relevant history/psychiatric/cultural considerations), and additional resources to guide neuropsychological evaluations. She has prior training with individuals presenting with various neurologic, medical, and psychiatric conditions across the lifespan, with specific interests in geriatric populations, forensic and sports neuropsychology. She is an involved member of American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN).

Dr. Owens received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Immaculata University. She received her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2015. She completed clinical rotations in the Dallas and Bath, NY Veteran’s Health Administration’s in neuropsychology and health psychology. She also worked as a psychometrician for several years in private practice.

Kaseem Parsley, PsyD

Hello there! I am a postdoctoral fellow specializing in clinical neuropsychology. I recently earned my doctorate and master’s degrees in clinical psychology, with a focus on assessment, from Chestnut Hill College. I completed my predoctoral internship at Beechwood Neurorehab, which allowed me to earn my certification in brain injury specialization. I have trained in various settings, including private practice, college counseling, an academic hospital, a neuropsychology outpatient clinic, and a long-term neurorehabilitation facility, which have equipped me to work with a wide variety of individuals. I have particular interests in geriatric populations, brain injury, and dementia/neurodegeneration, among other neurological conditions; however, my diverse clinical experiences have helped me develop an empathetic and non-judgmental approach to my work with all patients.

My goal is to make the clinical process as comfortable and supportive as possible, and I aim to provide treatment that makes patients feel understood and heard. I believe in maintaining a culturally humble perspective, collaborating with patients to obtain a comprehensive and holistic understanding of their individual experiences, and considering contextual factors (including culture, circumstance, and relevant histories) to reflect treatment goals and clinical recommendations that are meaningful to each person.

When I am not working, I enjoy cooking and trying new restaurants, challenging myself to learn piano and guitar, and participating in community intramural sports, such as Stonewall Philly. I stay very active, having been a former rugby player and an avid snowboarder for over 15 years.
